The UV90L Series UV Probes are designed for viewing the fire from the side (90\u00b0) or from the front, which allows for a clearer view of the flame in certain applications. The UV90L probes come with a unique mounting block that eliminates the need for a threaded viewing tube. The UV tube is made of quartz and filled with an ionizable gas<\/a> that ionizes when exposed to the ultraviolet radiation from the flame. When the UV radiation is gone, the gas<\/a> is an inert gas<\/a> that fills the tube, isolating the electrodes in the tube, which carry a continuous high voltage. During combustion<\/a>, the UV rays ionize the gas<\/a> and pulses of current flow through the electrodes.
