In Rwanda<\/a>, the Muhima District Hospital<\/a> has taken a significant step towards addressing this issue by installing a waste<\/a> incinerator<\/a> on its premises. This article will examine the economic and environmental<\/a> benefits of the waste<\/a> incinerator<\/a>, conducting a cost-benefit analysis to determine its overall impact.<\/p>\n

Muhima District Hospital<\/a>, located in Kigali, Rwanda<\/a>, is a major healthcare facility that provides medical<\/a> services to a large population. The hospital<\/a> generates significant amounts of medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, including infectious and non-infectious materials, which pose a significant risk to public health<\/a> and the environment if not disposed of properly. To mitigate these risks, the hospital<\/a> installed a waste<\/a> incinerator<\/a> in 2018, which has been operational since then.<\/p>\n
