As part of its commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, the hospital<\/a> has implemented a state-of-the-art waste<\/a> incinerator<\/a> that has significantly contributed to infection control and prevention. This article will explore the importance of a safe and healthy environment in healthcare settings, the challenges faced by the Butaro Hospital<\/a>, and the role of the waste<\/a> incinerator<\/a> in mitigating these challenges.<\/p>\n

The Importance of Infection Control and Prevention<\/strong><\/p>\n

Infection control and prevention are critical components of healthcare, as they help prevent the spread of diseases and ensure a safe environment for patients, healthcare workers, and the community at large. In developing countries like Rwanda<\/a>, where resources are limited and healthcare infrastructure is still evolving, the risk of hospital<\/a>-acquired infections (HAIs) is particularly high. According to the World Health<\/a> Organization (WHO<\/a>), HAIs are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, with an estimated 10% to 30% of patients in developing countries acquiring infections during their hospital<\/a> stay.<\/p>\n

Challenges Faced by the Butaro Hospital<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
