The Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Kigali (CHUK) is a leading healthcare facility in Rwanda<\/a>, providing tertiary care services to the population of Kigali and surrounding regions. As with any healthcare facility, CHUK generates significant amounts of medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, including hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> is a common method used by hospitals to manage medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, and CHUK is no exception. However, the incineration<\/a> of waste<\/a> can have significant environmental<\/a> and health<\/a> impacts if not managed properly. This article examines the regulatory framework governing waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> at CHUK and assesses the hospital<\/a>’s compliance with these regulations.<\/p>\n
