Introduction: The Athi River Medical<\/a> Services (ARMS) has implemented a waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> system to manage its medical<\/a> waste<\/a>. The system aims to reduce the risk of infection among patients, staff, and the surrounding community. This article assesses the effectiveness of the waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> system in reducing infection risk and highlights areas for improvement.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Medical waste disposal<\/a> is a critical aspect of healthcare, as it poses significant risks to human health<\/a> and the environment if not managed properly. The ARMS waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> system was installed to address the growing concerns about the disposal<\/a> of medical<\/a> waste<\/a>. The system uses a high-temperature<\/a> incineration<\/a> process to destroy medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, reducing the risk of infection and environmental<\/a> pollution<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This study used a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess the effectiveness of the waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> system. Data was collected through surveys, interviews, and observation of the incineration<\/a> process. The study also reviewed hospital<\/a> records and infection control data to determine the incidence of hospital<\/a>-acquired infections (HAIs) before and after the implementation of the waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> system.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The results of the study show that the waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> system has significantly reduced the risk of infection among patients and staff. The incidence of HAIs decreased by 30% after the implementation of the system.
