Medical waste disposal<\/a> is a critical aspect of healthcare that is often overlooked, yet it plays a significant role in ensuring the well-being of patients, healthcare workers, and the environment. In Tanzania<\/a>, the National Hospital<\/a> Abuja has implemented an incinerator<\/a> to manage its medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, and this study aims to examine the economic benefits of proper medical waste disposal<\/a>.<\/p>\n Medical waste disposal<\/a> is a significant concern in Tanzania<\/a>, where inadequate waste<\/a> management practices can lead to the spread of diseases, environmental<\/a> pollution<\/a>, and economic losses. The National Hospital<\/a> Abuja, being one of the largest healthcare facilities in the country, generates a substantial amount of medical<\/a> waste<\/a> that requires proper disposal<\/a>. The hospital<\/a>’s incinerator<\/a>, which was installed in 2015, has been operational for several years, providing an opportunity to assess its economic benefits.<\/p>\n This study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods. The research design consisted of a case study of the National Hospital<\/a> Abuja’s incinerator<\/a>, with data collected through interviews with hospital<\/a> staff, observation of the incineration<\/a> process, and analysis of financial records.<\/p>\n The study examined the following economic benefits of proper medical waste disposal<\/a>:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n<\/ul>\n The study found that the National Hospital<\/a> Abuja’s incinerator<\/a> has resulted in significant economic benefits, including:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \n<\/ul>\n The findings of this study highlight the importance of proper medical waste disposal<\/a> in Tanzania<\/a>. These benefits can be replicated in other healthcare facilities in Tanzania<\/a>, providing a strong argument for the adoption of proper medical waste disposal<\/a> practices.<\/p>\n In conclusion, this study has demonstrated the economic benefits of proper medical waste disposal<\/a> in Tanzania<\/a>, using the National Hospital<\/a> Abuja’s incinerator<\/a> as a case study.
