Waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> is a common practice in many hospitals around the world, including those in Iraq<\/a>. Al Yarmouk Teaching Hospital<\/a> in Baghdad, Iraq<\/a> is one of the largest and most prestigious hospitals in the country, providing medical<\/a> services to thousands of patients every year. The hospital<\/a> generates a significant amount of waste<\/a>, including hazardous and non-hazardous materials, which requires proper management and disposal<\/a>. Incineration<\/a> is one of the methods used to dispose of hospital<\/a> waste<\/a>, but it has raised concerns among the public and healthcare professionals due to its potential environmental<\/a> and health<\/a> impacts. This study aims to investigate the public perception of waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> at Al Yarmouk Teaching Hospital<\/a> in Baghdad, Iraq<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hospital<\/a> waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> is a controversial topic due to the potential release of toxic pollutants, such as dioxins and furans, into the air. These pollutants have been linked to various health<\/a> problems, including cancer, respiratory diseases, and neurological disorders. In addition, incineration<\/a> can also generate ash and particulate matter, which can contribute to air pollution<\/a> and negatively impact the environment. Despite these concerns, incineration<\/a> remains a widely used method for waste<\/a> disposal<\/a> in many hospitals, including those in Iraq<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Methodology<\/strong><\/p>\n

This study is based on a survey of 500 participants, including hospital<\/a> staff, patients, and members of the general public living in the surrounding area of Al Yarmouk Teaching Hospital<\/a>. The survey was designed to gather information on the participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> at the hospital<\/a>. The survey consisted of 20 questions, including multiple-choice questions, Likert scale questions, and open-ended questions. The data was collected over a period of six months and analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.<\/p>\n
