In Rwanda<\/a>, King Faisal Hospital<\/a> Kigali has taken a significant step towards ensuring the safe disposal<\/a> of medical<\/a> waste<\/a> through the installation of an incinerator<\/a>. This article aims to conduct a cost-benefit analysis of the incinerator<\/a>, highlighting the economic benefits of proper waste<\/a> disposal<\/a> and exploring the potential returns on investment for similar projects in the region.<\/p>\n

Introduction to King Faisal Hospital Kigali’s Incinerator<\/h2>\n

King Faisal Hospital<\/a> Kigali is a leading healthcare facility in Rwanda<\/a>, providing tertiary care services to the population. The hospital<\/a> generates a significant amount of medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, including infectious and non-infectious materials. To manage this waste<\/a> effectively, the hospital<\/a> installed an incinerator<\/a>, which has been operational since 2018. The incinerator<\/a> has a capacity to treat up to 500 kg of waste<\/a> per day, reducing the volume of waste<\/a> by up to 90%.<\/p>\n
