However, this method has been criticized for its potential to release toxic pollutants into the air, soil, and water. In Iraq<\/a>, the management of medical<\/a> waste<\/a> has been a pressing issue, particularly in public hospitals. However, incineration<\/a> can release toxic pollutants, such as dioxins, furans, and heavy metals, into the atmosphere, posing a risk to human health<\/a> and the environment. In Iraq<\/a>, the lack of proper waste<\/a> management systems and infrastructure has led to the uncontrolled disposal<\/a> of medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, including incineration<\/a> in open fields or unauthorized facilities.<\/p>\n

Al Nu’maniya General Hospital<\/a>, located in the Wasit Governorate, is one of the largest public hospitals in Iraq<\/a>. The hospital<\/a> generates a significant amount of medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, including infectious and pathological waste<\/a>. The hospital<\/a> has an incineration<\/a> facility on site, which is used to dispose of hazardous waste<\/a>.
