In the southern region of Tanzania<\/a>, the Masasi District Hospital<\/a> has taken a significant step towards improving air quality and public health<\/a> with the installation of a waste<\/a> incinerator<\/a>. The hospital<\/a>, which serves a population of over 200,000 people, has been struggling to manage its waste<\/a> management for years, resulting in environmental<\/a> and health<\/a> hazards. The Problem of Waste Management in Tanzanian Hospitals<\/h2>\n

Hospitals in Tanzania<\/a>, particularly in rural areas, face significant challenges in managing their waste<\/a> disposal<\/a>. The lack of proper waste<\/a> management infrastructure, inadequate funding, and limited personnel have led to the accumulation of hazardous waste<\/a>, including infectious medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
