Misenyi Health<\/a> Centre, a rural healthcare facility in Tanzania<\/a>, has been using incineration<\/a> as a primary method for medical<\/a> waste<\/a> management. This article aims to evaluate the effectiveness of medical<\/a> waste<\/a> incineration<\/a> at Misenyi Health<\/a> Centre through a cost-benefit analysis.<\/p>\n

Misenyi Health<\/a> Centre is a rural healthcare facility that provides primary healthcare services to a population of approximately 50,000 people. The facility generates an average of 50 kg of medical<\/a> waste<\/a> per day, which includes infectious and pathological waste<\/a>. Incineration<\/a> has been used as the primary method for managing medical<\/a> waste<\/a> at the facility since 2010. The incinerator<\/a> is a simple, brick-lined pit that uses diesel<\/a> fuel to burn waste<\/a>.<\/p>\n
