However, one healthcare facility, Clinique Medicale de L’Arche, is taking bold steps to reduce medical<\/a> waste<\/a> and promote a healthier environment.<\/p>\n

Located in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda<\/a>, Clinique Medicale de L’Arche is a private hospital<\/a> that has been providing quality healthcare services to the local community for over two decades. In recent years, the hospital<\/a> has made a concerted effort to reduce its environmental<\/a> footprint, with a particular focus on managing medical<\/a> waste<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, which includes items such as used syringes, gloves, and gauze, can pose a significant risk to public health<\/a> if not disposed of properly. In Rwanda<\/a>, where healthcare infrastructure is still developing, the management of medical<\/a> waste<\/a> is a significant challenge. Many healthcare facilities lack the resources and equipment needed to safely dispose of medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, leading to improper disposal<\/a> practices such as burning<\/a> waste<\/a> in open pits or dumping it in landfills.<\/p>\n

Clinique Medicale de L’Arche’s Solution<\/strong><\/p>\n

To address the problem of medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, Clinique Medicale de L’Arche has invested in a state-of-the-art incinerator<\/a>, which uses advanced technology<\/a> to safely and efficiently dispose of medical<\/a> waste<\/a>. The incinerator<\/a>, which was installed in 2020, has the capacity to process up to 100 kilograms of medical<\/a> waste<\/a> per day, making it one of the largest and most advanced medical<\/a> waste<\/a> incinerators in Rwanda<\/a>.<\/p>\n
