The Bariadi Regional Hospital<\/a>, located in Tanzania<\/a>, has implemented a waste<\/a> incinerator<\/a> as a measure to reduce the volume of bio-medical<\/a> waste<\/a> generated by the hospital<\/a>. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the waste<\/a> incinerator<\/a> in reducing bio-medical<\/a> waste<\/a> at the Bariadi Regional Hospital<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Background<\/p>\n

Bio-medical<\/a> waste<\/a>, which includes human tissues, bodily fluids, and other contaminated materials, poses significant risks to public health<\/a> and the environment if not managed properly. The World Health<\/a> Organization (WHO<\/a>) estimates that the average hospital<\/a> generates around 2-4 kg of waste<\/a> per bed per day, with a significant proportion being bio-medical<\/a> waste<\/a>. In Tanzania<\/a>, the Ministry of Health<\/a> has implemented regulations to ensure that healthcare facilities manage their waste<\/a> in an environmentally friendly manner.<\/p>\n
