Mozambique Takes a Step Forward: Inauguration of the New Incinerator Factory for Efficient Waste Management

Introduction

The New Incinerator Factory (NIF) plays a pivotal role in waste management as a core facility within the sustainable and efficient waste management landscape. The NIF is responsible for the final disposal of various materials like paper and plastic waste at the source of the Incinerator. The facility’s design and operational aspects must be in harmony with environmental regulations to ensure effective and sustainable waste management.

Steps for efficient waste management

1. Site selection

  • Select a site that can efficiently handle high-volume waste materials (e.g. office paper and plastic).
  • 3D model-based simulation software can be used to evaluate and select a site with low-carbon impact.

2. Incineration of organic matter

  • Design and modeling of a full-scale Incinerator can lead to 95% of organic matter can be processed by the New Incinerator
  • The 95% processed material will be sent to a complete set of downstream processes: anaerobic digestion, biological nitrogen processing (B-DNA) and thermal conditioning (incineration).

3. Real-time data

  • 3D and 2D models of the New Incinerator’s 95% processed material
  • 3D models and 2D models
  • The 3D model, which has real-time data (incinerator 1.60m/h and 0.58m/h)
  • 3D model: 3d+ (10/12)
  • 2D model: 2d-hour cycle

4. Material characterization

  • 100% of 95% processed materials
  • 70% of 100%
  • 60% of 95%

5. Safety

  • Real-time 3D models can be used to check real-time performance and safety
  • 3D model validation (real-time)

6. Sustainable design

  • The New Incinerator 3D model (real-time 3D model)
  • 3d-model (10/12)
  • 2d-hour cycle
  • 3d and 2d models

7. Online Simulation

  • 3D model
  • 2d models

8. Monitoring

  • Real-time 3D models
  • 3d model validation (real-time)
  • 3d model

9. Treatment

  • 3d+ models
  • 3d models

10. Conclusion

The New Incinerator Factory plays a vital role in efficient waste management by

  • Providing a 95% conversion rate
  • 3d model (real-time 3d model)
  • 3d+ and 2d models
  • 3d model (real-time 3d model)

Conclusion

The New Incinerator Factory has been designed to

  • To handle high-volume waste materials
  • To ensure that the facility’s design and operations
  • To meet environmental regulations
